The Cincinnati linebacker left Sunday’s game against the rival Steelers to be examined for a possible concussion, the Bengals announced.

Burfict endured a blow to the head in the second quarter when Steelers guard David DeCastro delivered a brutal helmet-to-helmet hit. He walked gingerly to the locker room to be further evaluated.

Burfict returned to the game after being evaluated and started the second half.

Cincinnati, which also lost linebacker Vincent Rey with a hamstring injury, held a 20-9 halftime lead at Paul Brown Stadium.
