LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony came into the NBA linked at the hip, and now they are linked by sore knees.

James is listed as questionable heading into Cleveland’s matchup against the Pelicans on Friday night, according to Cleveland.com. Anthony is “questionable to doubtful” for the Knicks game against the Celtics, according The Boston Globe.

Knee injuries forced James to miss Thursday night’s game against the Thunder, robbing the fans of the chance to see him go against Kevin Durant. The Thunder won the game, 103-94.

“I really don’t believe we have any kind of serious situation on our hands, just some soreness,” Cavaliers coach David Blatt said.

James, the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, averages team-highs of 24.8 points and 7.7 assists per game in his second tour of duty with the Cavaliers.

Anthony, the third pick in the same draft, sat out Wednesday night’s 109-92 loss to the Spurs. Reports that Anthony may need surgery at some point this season emerged earlier this week. He is averaging just under 23 points pe

r game for the Knicks.
