An MRI taken on Pelicans forward Anthony Davis' right shoulder revealed no structural damage, but Davis is expected to miss 1-2 weeks with a sprain, the team announced Sunday.

The news on Davis' shoulder comes after he re-aggravated a right shoulder strain in a collision with the Heat's Hassan Whiteside on Saturday.

Davis was originally diagnosed with a right shoulder contusion after a nasty fall on a dunk against the Bulls on Feb. 7. That injury kept Davis out of the All-Star game.

With a 28-27 record, the Pelicans are just two games out of the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference, and their hopes certainly hinge on their All-Star's health.

Davis is in the midst of another spectacular season in New Orleans, averaging 23.9 points and 10.3 rebounds per game with a league-leading 31.21 PER.
