Twins GM Terry Ryan fired

"We are extremely grateful and very thankful to Terry, his wife Karilyn and their family for being a part of the Minnesota Twins." The Twins came in second in AL Central last season but missed the playoffs. Over the four seasons before that, they finished fifth in the five-team division three times and fourth once. Minnesota did win the division in 2009 and 2010.In a press release announcing Ryan's firing, the Twins noted the team has won the division is four of Ryan's last 10 season as GM and that Ryan has twice been named Sporting News' Executive of the Year (2002, 2006).Antony is in his 29th year with the Twins, his ninth as assistant GM. He was promoted to add vice president to his title in December 2013.
