Once management figures who is healthy and hitting well this spring, the Sox may make a trade or two.  LAST SEASON:  Bradley struggled at the plate, slashing just .198/.265/.266 with 121 strikeouts in 384 plate appearances. SN'S TAKE:  In his small sample size of 164 games played, Bradley is hitting just .196/.268/.280 with 24 doubles and 40 RBIs and has struck out a whopping 152 times. Bradley is still just 24 and is a brilliant defender who would be a nice gamble for the rebuilding Braves now that Jason Heyward and Justin Upton are gone from the outfield. Bradley will need to impress with the Sox this spring in the Grapefruit League if he is wants to have a bigger role than a late-game defensive replacement.[......]

    Fans told no national anthem at NCAA regionial, sing it anyway

  • Over the weekend, Louisiana-Lafayette won the Lafayette region of the NCAA Softball Tournament, defeating Baylor 9-1 in the final game on Sunday.Prior to the teams' first meeting on Saturday, the third game of the day, fans in attendance were told that because the game was the third of the day, there would be no national anthem prior to the start of the contest.     Already on DL, Padres OF Wil Myers needs surgery on injured wrist

  • Baseball Padres outfielder/first baseman Wil Myers went on the 15-day disabled list on Monday, but he will be sidelined much longer than 15 days.  Wil Myers will undergo surgery Thursday to remove the bone spur in his left wrist.     Rob Manfred on Chase Utley, aggressive slides: 'Important we protect players'

We’ve got a lot of money invested in ballplayers. The players themselves have tremendous playing opportunities in terms of what they can earn.     Jason Heyward: Cubs have 'a lot of work to do' to catch up to Cardinals

  • Despite being a Cardinal for only one season, Jason Heyward is plenty familiar with the history between his former team and his new team. As a Cardinal, he hit a home run last season in Game 3 of the NLDS, which the Cubs — his new team — would go on to win in four games. Then he switched allegiances over the winter and signed an eight-year, $184 million contract with the northsiders. He went from being a fan favorite in St. Louis to being a "trader."
