Maurkice Pouncey posts heated tirade against proposed NFL CBA

It's going to be a hard no from Maurkice Pouncey on the proposed new NFL CBA.

The All-Pro center took to social media on Wedn夜网论坛esday to air his thoughts about the new CBA and, if you were curious with which way he would vote, that question was solved in the first few seconds of his video.

“And if any player on any one of our teams, if you all are hurting for rent money or anything while we go through this lockout, call us,” Pouncey said in the video. “Man, we got way more money than what they had back in the days. Drew Brees and the national anthem: Revisiting the Saints QB's controversial anti-kneeling comments

  • NFL Saints American Football

Saints quarterback Drew Brees underestimated the implications of making an anti-kneeling statement at the height of nationwide protests against police brutality and racism earlier this summer.

He told Yahoo Sports in June that any NFL player who took a knee during the national anthem was "disrespecting the flag of the United States' and "our country."

"Is everything right with our country right now? No, it is not," Brees said in the interview. "We still have a long way to go. But I think what you do by standing there and showing respect to the flag with your hand over your heart, is it shows unity. It shows that we are all in this together, we can all do better and that we are all part of the solution."

Players around the sports world, including some Saints teammates, harshly criticized Brees for not empathizing with the unique set of issues Black people in the U.S. face. They felt his comments were not only unhelpful to their cause, but also directly undermined their efforts to explain why pointing out racial inequality during the anthem has nothing to do with their level of respect for America.

All it took was one year lighting up the Big 12 in Lincoln Riley's offense, but it was more than that. Hurts displayed improved mechanics at OU that helped him more accurately and consistently push the ball down the field. Coupled with a rushing ability that fits in the modern NFL, Hurts' passing improvements led him to Philadelphia despite the presence of Carson Wentz.

The team pivoted and traded Goff to the Lions for quarterback Matthew Stafford soon after.

The team's cryptic statements on the status as Goff as a starter led to him seeing the writing on the wall, apparently. Speaking with the LA Times, Goff said he'll always take pride in bringing LA football back to prominence, but welcomed a new opportunity.

"As the quarterback, as the guy that's at arguably the most important position on the field, if you're in a place that you're not wanted and they want to move on from you, the feeling's mutual," Goff said. "You don't want to be in the wrong place. Do Super Bowl betting odds suggest that Aaron Rodgers is heading to the Broncos?

  • NFL Broncos Packers American Football

The Broncos didn't select a quarterback during the 2021 NFL Draft. Despite being on the clock at No. 9 with Justin Fields and Mac Jones on the board, the team opted to go with cornerback Patrick Surtain II with its first selection. After that, the team chose not to add another quarterback to the fray, ensuring that either Drew Lock or the newly acquired Teddy Bridgewater would be the starter during the '21 season.

So, why would the Broncos' Super Bowl betting odds improve so much in the wake of the draft without the team making a massive upgrade at the quarterback spot?

According to The Denver Post, the Broncos went from having the 24th-best odds to win the Super Bowl at +6,600 (a $100 bet nets $6,600) to the ninth-best chance to take home a title at +2,200. Those odds are similar to what some other books have moved their Broncos odds to as well.

The 夜网论坛Washington Football Team is going to have a new name at some point in the future. It ditched its old "Redskins" moniker back in the summer of 2020 after FedEx — the naming rights sponsor for the team's stadium — called upon them to make the change.
